I have the option of moving this card, to an Asus Prime H370 Plus, with 8GB DDR4 Hyper X and a i5 8500.

Upgrading from an i7 4790 to an i5 8400 is so not worth it, especially if you play at 4k. The main limiting component is going to be your gaphics card anyways. Yes, its gong to perform a little bit better in some games, but only by a couple of frames when using a very high-end gpu like a GTX 1080 Ti. If you still want to switch to 8th gen, at least go for a 8600k. Also 8GB of ram will just not cut it in some games nowadays.

Maybe check if you can squeeze a few more mhz out of your cpu by bclk overclocking. Should work fine since you have a very decent mainboard and it works quite well on Devils Canyon / Haswell chips.

Hi all. A piece of advice please. I recently purchased an Asus Cerberus 1070ti. I had it installed on an Asus Maximum VII Ranger (Z97 chipset) along with 16GB DDR3 Corsair Ram and an i7 4790 (not the K version).

I am interested mainly in 4K ~60 fps gaming due to my monitor. I don't play any fast games, Shadow of War or Mass Effect Andromeda and sometimes Witcher 3 are maybe my most demanding titles, I prefer graphics quality over higher than 60 fps or refresh rates.

Is this transition worth my time and money or I will not see any noticeable differences? Thank you all in advance.

1700 ti should be paired with a good cpu for max performance. Believe or not cpu also help in the graphic department is not just for speed
