RAID vs UNRAID

Shehryar23

What would you prefer RAID or Unraid for maximum redundancy. All the raid configuration versus unraid the most secure way to save data and the secure way of redundancy (lets not talk about more backups just data and parity for redundancy no external backup)

I prefer ZFS.

Why not talk about backup? What happen if all your drive dies at same time, raid won't help.

Raid is mainly for performance boost and in-case if a drive break due to life and allow you buy new drive and replace array without losing data.

Also this topic has been discuss to death, just use forum search next time or even better Google or duckduckgo/searx if you want some privacy.

You also might want to put all question in one thread instead of posting 3 different threads about UNRAID vs Raid.

What's your definition of maximum redundancy?

I'm tempted to give you the smart ass answer of all drives in raid 1 technically meets your maximum redundancy requirement
