I was wondering if I could use any charging brick with my new Samsung Galaxy s9 plus. I recently made the switch from Apple to Samsung, and have many left over apple power bricks. I want to make sure that my phone will run off of them properly, and have no issues. I would really hate to use a Apple charging brick and mess up my phones battery or something like that. In a perfect world I would just buy more Samsung bricks but I have all of these left over apple ones and I want to know if I can use those ?

I've been using the Apple bricks for a while now and they work fine. The trick is to get a brick that has very similar or exact same voltage (5 volts is key) and that will avoid damage to your device.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

They all generally use the USB standard. You should be more worried about the actual quality of the circuitry used in USB chargers as that is what more commonly damages devices. With name brand ones like Apple and Samsung, you should be generally fine unless there was a huge oversight in the design of the circuitry.

Every wondered why phones seem to be exploding left and right these days? Well outside of the generally idea that stuffing more power in a such a small package just invites more exciting fires, I suspect it has to do with people just buying cheap knockoff USB chargers. Those 2 dollar USB chargers from the flea market or dollar store certainly don't inspire much confidence.

I'm not getting that vibe at all, not since note 7 days.
