Lets say I have an i7 8700 and a GTX 1070, am I in a real need for a GSync monitor?

Im trying to figure if I really need it or I can just go with a standard 144hz 1ms monitor?

What games are you playing? Are you more concerned about framerate or fidelity (Quality)?

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

What sort of games are you playing on your system?

And btw, you don't need to spend a fortune on a G-Sync monitor since Nvidia cards work with FreeSync monitors now ;)

R6, Battlefield 1 / 4, Probably a little of the new games.

If you're going for 1440p then yes, if 1080p I'd say no

Well I bet my shit cant run on 1440p on high settings on 60fps+ so I dont see any reason on buying 1440p. Im looking into 1080p for now.

I would just go with a normal 1080p 144Hz monitor.

Nvidia freesync support. KIND OF: https://www.techspot.com/article/1687-freesync-on-nvidia-gpu-workaround/

1070 could do 1440p90fps (ish). 1060 can do 1080p144fps for games like Rainbow six on a mix of medium and high settings. (What I'm running atm)

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1070/18.html Here's a sheet of Techspot's benchmarks for R6.

A 1070 can run 1440p high at 60+ fps, I have a 1070 and a 1440p g sync monitor. At mostly high settings I hit about 80-90 fps in GTA 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, and 120 fps on fortnite.
