Hey everyone! Need some help squeezing every little bit of juice out of this cpu. 

 

Heres the setup

i5 2500k

gigabyte ga-z77-dh3

16 gb of hyper x ddr3 1600

samsung 120gb

evga 120mm aio 

gtx 960 4gb

Evga 500w

 

i have the multiplier at x50

and bus speed at 101

with cpu voltage at 1.5v

 

underload temps stay at 65c

 

cinebenchr15 score 652

I would not be comfortable with this voltage for a 24/7 overclock.

If it's only temporary for benching fair enough, even then it's a bit high.

 

My 2500k system runs @4.0GHz at 1.28v as a daily.

 

What is your goal?

Tbh you're not going to notice any real difference in a couple of hundred mhz. If I were you I would try to finetune your 5ghz overclock to use a bit less voltage and call it a day.. Would be a waste to throw away a good overclocker like that just because you wanted to push it to its limits

So I brought the voltage down to 1.45 and it wouldn’t do it for the 5ghz but it works for the 4.9. Right now I’m stressing it to see temps and they are atm hitting 65c

if 1,5v is what it takes that could still be considered safe depending on the quality of your board.
