First off let me just say I'm a Noob! This is my first PC build and although a pretty smooth experience I definitely don't know everything. ha ha. Well anyways I bought some new Ram (2 x 8gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600mhz) for my new build but It's not stable when I set it to 3600mhz in the bios. I have tried the preset XMP profile and still unstable. I hope it's just me being dumb but I'm not sure if it's just bad ram or something? Thank you!

PC Specs:

Mobo: Asus z370-e

CPU: i7 8700k

Ram: Corsair 2x 8gb 3600mhz

GPU: AMD Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro

PSU: Corsair RMi 1000

+ 250gb SSD and 4TB HDD

-and FYI my last upgrades are an M.2 SSD and Video Card. Hopefully the new Galax RTX 2080ti !!!! :D :D

What exactly is unstable about it?

Give this a try.  You can install it in a USB and boot from the USB.

Run all tests on each DIMM multiple times overnight to verify you are good to go.

If you get errors, RMA the RAM.

When at 3600mhz I'll get black screens, shut downs and computer not restarting. My mobo will light up a dram led telling me there is a problem and also post screens saying to change bio settings but it seems to work just fine clocked at 3500mhz. I will try what you have suggested though. Thank you!

OK.

I had an issue with some ram of that speed in the past and had to run memtest86 for 8 passes of each test to get it to error.  Patience is key here...
