I just put together my new rig, I pressed the power button and it got as far ad the windows booting screen when it shut down. I pressed power again and nothing happened. I have tried turning off the power supply and turning it back on again. I have checked the power cables, and nothing seems to be happening.

Please help!

Give it a moment, remove some hardware from the psu like graphic card and unecessary fans and additional hdd if you have more than one. Give it 10 mins or more. please give it time. Look at the psu and turn on the pc if the pc doesn't come one and the psu fan spins for a second.. It's the pus you may have to replace.

Try trouble shooting by using another psu when you done this.

Wish you luck,

~Nick

Psu fans arent spinning at all. But I do hear a faint buzzing from the psu.

Should I just leave it for a bit?

Corsair have a good guide on how to test for a DOA psu. It's as simple as connecting something for it to power, like a fan, and shorting the green wire on the 24 pin with any black wire with a paper clip and flipping the switch on to see if it powers it. The short convinces the psu the computers been turned on and attempts to power up.

Hope this helps rule out your psu :) If it's fine, just mention me and I'll get back to you.

export PS1='\[\033[1;30m\]┌╼ \[\033[1;32m\]\u@\h\[\033[1;30m\] ╾╼ \[\033[0;34m\]\w\[\033[0;36m\]\n\[\033[1;30m\]└╼ \[\033[1;37m\]'
