Need help figuring out a few headset issues.

Hi guys, I have two issues at the moment and would love some help.

1. - My headset audio is only audible if I pull out the audio jack a little bit. If I plug it in all the way it becomes distorted, but if I firmly push it in even further it works perfect. I don't believe it's the headset because it works just fine if I push it in all the way on my laptop and phone. Could it be my computer? I just built it yesterday.

2. - My pc has an input and output jack but my headset is a single jack. Do I need to buy an adapter splitter if I want my headset to both hear and speak with others via Discord/Teamspeak etc. Is there a better solution than having to buy a splitter? My laptop did not require one, I could simply plug it in and it would work as my output and input.

Thanks for any help.

Of course its possible that case has faulty headphone output connector, but headset having combined TRRS plug might be well behind that connection problem.

So you should try adapter like this
