Is this card https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B079NX4GCF/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 better than this card https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XZQMMHJ/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1? Or are they same thing, but mainly looking at thermal issues.

MSI's Armor heatsink isn't known to be the best.

The Gaming X(first card you linked) would be a better option in terms of  thermals

the original armor coolers were infamous for their sheer lack of performance. the only good thing they brought were cheaper prices for users who wanted to liquid cool them as the cooler then won't matter. I haven't heard anything bad about the mk2 tho.

Should I get the mk 2 instead?

I would get neither unless you are willing to do a repasting. Find a better cooler style in general like EVGA iCX, MSI Gaming, Asus Strix, Gigabyte G1 or Gaming, etc.

Both overheat? I am not looking to overclock anything.

They're not that great with the stock paste. a repasting or even LM is necessary which is why most ppl that get them are stripping them down for liquid cooling anyway.

Are they terrible??

They're not much better than the reference coolers, so for the money, yes. In practice they aren't terrible. Just not good.

I don't know xfx's product lineup that well but from what I can see it should be fine.

Can't tell if it's 3 or 4 heat pipes but they look big so visually looks like a decent cooler.
