External Storage Question

[Hi P]

Around 2012 my father bought a LaCie Thunderbolt External SSD to use with an iMac, it was barely used so it's in a good shape, I turn it on time to time just to check.

 

Since my father's Laptop is running on an HDD I thought to put the SSD on it (as internal), I don't even know if it's possible.

 

 

Could it be possible for me to:

 

- Remove Raid 0 (2 x 500, data is backed up)

 

- Format the drive to be natively read by Windows, since right now I have to install "Mac Drive" for the drive to be detected, I don't know why.

Generally with those littleBig disk you need to use Lacie's software to reconfigure the external if at all possible. I have never had to rebuild the RAID array inside of one of those so it will be trial an error. You may just able to put the drives in then just format it like normal under windows.
