Hello,

After reading up online, I have discovered that my aging 1050ti laptop cannot support the Oculus rift because of nvidia optimus and that the intel graphics and nvidia graphics share the hdmi port.

I am looking for a new laptop that could do VR(specifically the oculus), but I am not sure that any laptop with a 1060 could do it  (because of the nvidia optimus thing)

My budget is around $1000-$1500

Most laptops with a GTX 1060 are classified as VR-ready.

If you set your default GPU to the Nvidia High-performance GPU in your Nvidia Control Panel, then you shouldn't have any issues. By default, a laptop will use the more powerful GPU for more taxing applications.
