Location:Canada Eh

PC use: occasionally streaming(would like to stream more), gaming, web browsing, VR. Also want to move to 1440p 144hz gaming. I do plan on having 2-3 monitor's. I'm also having a trying to decide if I want to upgrade or not.

My current build: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/vMhGXP

This build is 95% used lol, it was a project budget build. The only things that are new were the PSU, AIO, Keyboard and Mouse.

The 4 HDD are in raid 0.

This PC could be sold to recoup the price of the upgrade or it could be used to host servers or be a streaming PC or used for friends if I ever get some(lol). Or used as a VR machine, etc.

The Upgrade Build:https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/sLD2zY

VESA mount not included in price will be buying later on. Also should I wait for the 9000 series chips to come out or stay with 8th gen. With this I'm assuming I should be able to do 1440p 144hz gaming and maybe down the road 4K.

Currently my PC is doing what I need it to, but I can't overclock unless I buy a mobo off of ebay and I kinda just want to build a new PC. Should I just stick with my current build and buy a mobo or upgrade? There are other factors with upgrading. Like newer components, future proofing, etc.

There's no such thing as future proofing :P

That said, I'd wait for the 9000 series. Might as well get the newest you can when it's available, unless you're planning on going used again.

IIRC there are better coolers than the one you've selected.

I can't help but think you'd be better off with a 1080Ti. The added cost of the 2080Ti doesn't really mane a whole lot of sense, unfortunately.

I'd also hold off on buying anything until Black Friday.
