Yeah, but is is possible to upgrade it to 3rd generation CPU?

you may need to update the BIOS if the motherboard's current BIOS doesn't support it, but yes. i'd look for a used i7 2600/xeon e3 1230 for $50 or so.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Hey

my old pc is needing an upgrade and i want to upgrade it from i3-2120 to something else. Can i upgrade it to anything as long as it is FCLGA 1155 (LGA 1155)?

If you have the Alienware X51 R1 you can upgrade to the i7-3770:

To be on the safe side, what's the make and model of your computer? Better yet since it's an Alienware which is made by Dell can you look on the side of the case for the Service Tag # and post it here.

CPU: Sempron 2500+ / P4 2.8E / P4 2.6C / A64 x2 4000+ / E6420 / E8500 / i5-3470 / i7-3770

Do i need a bigger power adapter for a i7 3770? I am using i3 2120 right now.

I would be willing to bet my left nut that whatever power supply is in that system would be more than enough.

Go on eBay, or another website along those lines, and find a good deal for a used i7-3770 or go for the K variant (i.e. i7-3770K) if you would like to overclock.

You should quite easily be able to find one for less than $150.
