is it okie to have the voltage set at auto, it hits max voltage to 1.332V when playing games.

im overclocking i5 6600k to 4.5ghz.

it idles at 0.864V - 1.000v and jumps to 1.3v if needed or should i keep it consistent 1.335v?

is that consider safe if the voltage jumps up and down in the safe range.

Voltage changing is safe, as long as it doesn't exceed the max you've set, since much higher would be no good. Less voltage when idle is better because it's using less power when not needed.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

but I have to switch my voltage setting back to auto.

Might as well manually change the voltage, auto is pretty generous so toying with voltage to get it as low as possible is ideal.

well you see idk why dvid is grey out when i  try to put manual voltage. I'm still new to this

do I put the max voltage and use minus - (set a voltage to the lowest when idle)?

Unfortunately I haven't done enough overclocking on gigabyte motherboards to know that for sure, so I think you should check out some YouTube tutorials to really nail it down

well i found out that I need 1.382v for a stable 4.6ghz

1.332v for 4,5ghz

idle voltage 0.864 - 1.1v on lowest core 800mhz

I don't recommend 1.38 for regular use in the long term, so maybe stick to 4.5

my max temps are 55-60c gaming 4.6ghz usually hit 1.38-1.39.

idle are around 20c voltage drops

is it still bad?

though 4.6ghz the voltage does spike up it doesn't go beyond the voltage of 1.4v

hwmonitor shows sometimes i go idle 0.840v jumps straight to 0.135v - 0.139v

alright nvm i don't know how to get DVID to work on gigabyte z170, it works on auto and normal, but doesn't give consistant v core, when auto even with LLC on high. maybe i add more DVID +.

trying to look everywhere but only have voltage settings AUTO, Normal. manual

i can add DVID if the setting is normal but the setting is on auto voltage and its still not stable, when I play games.
