Hi guys,

I'm looking to build/ buy my 1st ever gaming PC .

I would like a system built around and compatible with a 1080ti graphics card and intel i7 8700k.

After doing alot of research I'm leaning more towards a pre built pc because of the rise in prices for parts nowadays.

Here's a list of parts I've looked out what do yous think?

When looking at pre built pcs any advice would be appreciated I was looking at the msi infinate x which on Amazon it's actually out if stock at the mo. But it retails for around 1900-2000 £

If you guys could give me any advice or tips as to build or buy it would be greatly appreciated

One thing you want to check with prebuilts is upgradability.

Some prebuilts tend to use components which aren't as readily available. I can't say for sure exactly what the MSI is using but definitely ensure that there's an upgrade path.

Also make sure that the PSU is of a good quality.

Speaking of that, what sort of PSU are you putting in your PC?

The Workhorse (AMD-powered custom desktop)

The Portable Workstation (Apple MacBook Pro 16" 2021)

SoC: Apple M1 Max (8+2 core CPU w/ 32-core GPU) | RAM: 32GB unified LPDDR5 | Storage: 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD | OS: macOS Monterey

The Communicator (Apple iPhone 13 Pro)

SoC: Apple A15 Bionic | RAM: 6GB LPDDR4X | Storage: 128GB internal w/ NVMe controller | Display: 6.1" 2532x1170 "Super Retina XDR" OLED with VRR at up to 120Hz | OS: iOS 15.1

I see no power supply, but I do see two water coolers.

Use https://pcpartpicker.com/ to make your build and share the permalink with us here.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

There is little point in getting an i7-8700K. I'd suggest going with an i7-8700 instead. It's performance is quite close to a stock i7-8700K.

You might as well get the new RTX 2080. It's performance is a touch better than the GTX 1080 Ti and it includes new vector technology that may start to be used in new game releases.

I've included compatible RGB components and a case with excellent airflow.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

What kind of PSU is in the case as there are ton of threads on this forum and others of people complaining after they upgrade their GPU or some other component the PSU dies out. Companies tend to put the bare minimum PSU in there to cut the price.     ~ and charge your phone, you're giving me the spooky
