Upgrade or SLI?

Hey everyone, like the title says, I'm wondering what would be best for my setup, if upgrading or going SLI. My current setup is a 6700k and a 1080 FTW2. With the new releases prices have gone down and I want to do it before the tax becomes active. I'm debating between selling my 1080 and getting a 1080Ti or getting another 1080 Ftw2 and doing SLI. I game on a 1440p 144hz monitor. Thank you all for your responses.

What games do you play? It's a battle of SLI scaling.

I play a bunch of games, from Terraria to Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I don't really have a set game style, except COD, that's my go to for when I have limited time, so I just go on for a match or two.

then a 1080ti seems more appropriate, since SLI scaling is unknown.

Doubt that cpu would keep up with a pair of 1080’s.

Well it depends on you. If you want more than one a single 1080ti can offer or what to settle with its performance. 

Id run 1080's all day. Only reason im going 1080ti, is because they are cheap and two are better than any card I can get as of now.

Correct. Building a new rig that can handle it and it would be a waste to get a 2080ti.
