For 1440p anything from 5-6th Gen Intel should be fine. Your most likely going to be GPU bottlenecked anyways with a 1080 so even a ryzen 1800 is probably good enough for most situations.

You'll be better off with an Intel upgrade, but a 7700k would probably fare similar to an 8700k. Not exactly an enormous leap in performance in one generation.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

That will be a bottleneck, but a fairly minor one. If you wanted to upgrade, get a 7600K.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Since OP was considering an 8700k, I think the hassle free maxing out of the currently owned platform would be ideal

Sure, if they have the cash to do so. We don't know if OP's motherboard is an overclockable chipset, so recommendations aren't super useful at the moment. If OP has the cash for a 7700K, by all means, go for it. If not, the 7600K is a good option to prevent bottlenecking.

i have a the lowest chipset h110, so the motherboard will effect on the Performence?

and what is the deferent between 7700K and 7600K (and do i even need the "K")?

So the 7700k is an i7, so it has 4 cores 8 threads (kind if acts like it has 8 cores). The 7600k is a four core four Thread. the K at the end will actually give you higher frequencies even without overclocking, so a 7700 K is better than a 7700 even on an h110 board. The 7600k does not have this advantage.

Log story short, the 7700k will be the best chip for your motherboard no matter what, in terms of performance.

how much the jump from 7700 to 7700k would effect performance, will it be 10 more fps on average?

no way to know exact fps since it varies greatly game to game, but if budget is what you're after, a 7700 will cut it

A cooler like the cryorig h7 is great
