Lenovo E550, E555 Upgrade

Hello all, 

 

I recently got my hands on a used Lenovo E555 Laptop with the AMD A6 7000 APU with 8gb of ram in it. It is a decent little laptop but the CPU is lacking a bit. After a bit of research I found that the COU is non swapable (as usual with OEMs) but the motherboard is. From what I have found I could put a motherboard with the A8 or A10 in it and it would be a decent little upgrade. Now from what I have found the E550, E550c, and E555 are all in the same family. What I am wondering is if I could swap the motherboard to something from one of the E550 models with an intel i5 or i7 in it. Also I see that some models of the E555 had a Full HD 1080p display and I was thinking about upgrading to that aswell. May also lookinto 16gb of ramm in the future but was wanting to see if any one knew if this is possible to swap. 

 

Alternatively if I cannot swap these out I will probably just hold out for a while and eventually get one of the Eluktronics barebones laptops or maybe a nice mid range gaming laptop, but I want to mess with this to have some fun in the mean time if I can swap some stuff out
