Surface Pro 3 Update to windows 10 failed

So what happened is that my Surface Pro 3 decided to force update to windows 10 (i believe, damn u microsoft, good physical products but shitty update service) and after installing said update it is now stuck on the Surface screen. I left it on overnight thinking it might just need some time to finish whatever it was doing but now I believe that I "softbricked" it. I know how to install windows 10 from a usb drive, but the question is do I have to install certain drivers as I install the OS, and if so, how do I do that?

If you force shutdown the Surface (press and hold the power button for several seconds), and power it back up, does it start now?

No, I've already tried pretty much most of the button combos, and when I try to put a usb drive into it (and enable USB then SSD boot) it still doesn't do anything
