Hi guys,

One of my friends has recently came to me for help with his computer. Recently, his Acer Predator G3 710 has done the following:

  • A few days ago, it froze while playing Planet Coaster, he held the power button but then the system refused to POST and would begin to beep rapidly. Eventually with out doing anything, it started up again.
  • I ran Memtest for him which reported no issues.
  • The following day it froze again but this time restarted fine. Then, I got him to run Prime95 and Furmark at the same time which caused the computer to freeze. Upon rebooting, he repeated with just Prime95 which ran fine. He then ran furmark which is when he realised his GPU temperature had peaked at 91 degrees. We concluded that this could be to blame and decided that it would be best for him to add some fans to his case as none were installed by Acer originally and then to see if the system was stable for a while.
  • However, today, the computer had a BSOD with the error code: Kernel_Security_Check_Failure. The computer was just sat at idle when this happened. By this point I'm not sure what to do and really need some help to get his computer up and running.

He has had the computer just over a year and was refurbished when bought.

The specs of the system are as follows:

-i5 6400

-1 x  DDR4 8GB stick of RAM

-GTX 970

-Samsung 860 evo ssd

-2TB seagate hard drive

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have warranty, get help from techsupport.

or try this maybe?

And if he has an OC try running the gpu/cpu without OC

Well at least we know there's no OC on the CPU

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

CPU temperatures are looking normal at around 60 degrees under load. I could get him to try the video. I'm just a bit worried about how the computer started beeping and refused to post but them started working again. Seems like something is beginning to die in the system.
