I have an Unraid server that I use mostly for plex.  I would like to be able to use it for other things like owncloud.  From what I have read and seen it looks like a pretty simple setup until I want to be able to use it remotely.  I would really like to be able to use it for backing up/syncing pics and videos from our phones.

I start getting lost when the guides I look at mention a DNS, ssl certificate, and anything else along those lines.  If I could get pointed to some super simple easy to follow guides or anything like that and preferably free to super low cost.  Really want to do this so that we dont have to pay for a cloud service like dropbox, Icloud, or anything else like that.  Thank you.

I don't have the greatest advice for you, but I don't want to leave the thread unanswered. Trying to setup OwnCloud without knowing the fundamentals is going to be impossible. I don't use UnRaid or docker containers in my setup, but I did find a guide that looks to be spot on.

Firstly it is NextCloud (an OwnCloud fork from when the original dev team left OwnCloud). Give this video a shot.
