Phenom ii x6 1100T is the best CPU available for this motherboard (very power hungry, make sure you have a good power supply and cpu cooler).

GTX 970 would be good to pair with it, or a 1060.

Your current combo won't get you far, it's very old.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

your system is starting to get pretty old, but it should be able to play most games at mid-low settings (might be sub 60fps)

youll have to play around with the settings in order to get the best experience. Also I wouldnt try any resolutions above 1080p

i7-8700k @ 4.8Ghz | EVGA CLC 280mm | Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 | 16GB G-Skill DDR4-3000 C15 | EVGA RTX 2080 | Corsair RM650x | NZXT S340 Elite | Zowie XL2730

1) depends on the resolution but given how terribly optimized pubg is you probably can't run medium at 1080p.

2) any phenom II

3) upgrading your cpu to a 6 core phenom wouldn't really help your performance much, and a higher end graphics card would be limited by your cpu. You can already play most games though, you'll just have to live with low settings until you can afford a new cpu and motherboard.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

What is your budget for the upgrade?

Your system is 10 years old and will struggle in most modern games.
I would not recommend spending any money on upgrading the platform you currently have, and instead would recommend saving that money towards upgrading to a new platform.

AM4 with a Ryzen processor might be a good choice, however you will need a new CPU, new Motherboard, new DDR4 memory, and I would also recommend a new PSU if your existing unit is as old as the rest of the system. If you do decide to go this route, then I would also advise adding a SSD for the operating system as well.

Here is an example of a modern budget build to give you an idea of pricing (prices shown in USD):
