Hello, so i've decided to update my system by purchasing an ssd. (Gigabyte 256 GB)

My system currently is running win7 on old HDD. So my question is how do i do it?

i connected sata3 and power connector cabbles to my new ssd, it doesn't show up in "my computer" but u can see it in device manager.

Should i install win 10 to disc, turn off pc, remove hdd, install win 10 on ssd and then format hdd?

your best bet is to do a fresh install but thats not always the easiest..   Most ssd's come with Cloning software, so if your bios sees the ssd, then  just boot into windows and install the cloning software,  unfortunately if you have a larger hdd it may not work. since the app will clone 500+gb onto the 256.. not enough room.
