Think I originally bought one after a review by Linus of all people but having bought several 502's over the years I've had enough, looking for options.    The mouse is size is perfect and the scroll wheel ..well, once you go freeballin you never go back :)

Problem is quality, the wheel itself ends up bending or something to the point it develops ghost scrolling.  The sensors themselves become so sensitive you can lock the scroll wheel and STILL cause ghost scrolling from barely shaking it.    Drives me NUTS.

Are there any alternatives that have the same flywheel and size?  I don't really care for 300 buttons and given the choice, much prefer USB (or PS/2... it's complicated).    There used to be a mouse that had _two_ flywheels but I can't for the life of me find it.   One  for vertical and one for horizontal scroll.    Seriously it was pure awsomeness to use :)

I haven't had any issues with my G502... granted it's only like 6 months old or so. There's always the other logitech mice like the G pro, 403 (more not as good ones), Razer DeathAdder, Lancehead, Corsair M65, and all the best Roccat Mice (Leadr, Nyth, Tyon, Kone).

If you want a gaming mouse with the freescroll that's not the G502 I'm pretty sure your options are limited to the G900/G903

Have this mice. Recently started getting false trigger on middle mouse click button. Took it apart to clean and see if I could fix it. Turns out middle click button is not an Omron switch but regular membrane switch. Explains why it has different tactile feedback compared to rest of the buttons. And due to design of the plastic trigger, membrane got worn out/pierced in 1,5-2 years in my case. (I use middle click a lot) I think this is something people should be informed about when considering this mice, especially since it is marketed as Full Omron Switches mice. Also a lot of users report faulty/wobbly wheel which in my case might have caused membrane to fail significantly earlier due to free travel of the plastic trigger on the membrane's surface.

The Razer basilisk has a good sensor and almost the same shape it's just not wireless

It also has a daptive still resistance it's just not as extreme

Hmm.  will have to check tomorrow.  Wired is preferred any way.   I've tried razer mice before but found them to be.... awkward.    Linux support is thankfully not such a bit deal any more but there are still mice that require their own stupid drivers to setup / "calibrate" from potato defaults..

Shit, my LG G502 must be broken,

it's free scrolling!

How can I fix this?O.o

Hope you're not trolling :) Kinda the problem, you can't.  Assuming you're not talking about the flywheel feature itself.     Logitech might be able to tweak their windows drivers since the behavior is pretty consistent but they'd take a hit in latency.    Easiest way to describe to for anyone else is scrolling a page can result in micro jitters where the scroll goes up and down a tiny bit because the wheel itself moves .. own its own.

I'm so sorry, but I must disappoint you.

TheG502 comes with free scrolling.

It's great for websites and spreadsheets.

I have a 502, it is indeed great... when it works.

I would definitely recommend the G903, I upgraded to it from the G502 only about a month or two ago, easy to switch between wired / wireless mode, battery lasts pretty long (I just charge it over night every few days), and of course; free scrolling.
