IF i understood u correctly, i could upgrade the pc i have just changing some parts, without having to buy a new one? If that's the case, what would u recommend me to change and for what parts? Thank u very much for everything

CPU: I'd recommend going for an 8th generation Intel chip. Specifically, the i7-8700K, which is currently the best CPU for gaming.

CPU Cooler: Any air cooler works, and would even allow for some overclocking.

Motherboard: Any Z370 motherboard is recommended.

Memory: I'd recommend a 2 x 8, 3200 MHz, DDR4 memory kit.

Storage: If you're reusing those drives, get a 500GB SSD.

Video Card: Your budget allows for a 1080 TI, which even with the new Nvidia GPUs coming out, will still be one of the fastest GPU's out there.

Case: Any case works.

Power Supply: I'd recommend one that's fully-modular, 80+ Silver or better, and at least 550W.

Hope this helps!

I have a gtx 960 and i would like to upgrade my pc. I want a PC if possible between 1000-1500€ that can run everything at 2k without problems and if possible a recommendation of a 2k monitor. I would be gratefull if someone can recommend me a PC build for that or a Pre-built PC that i can buy on Amazon for example. Thanks

Welcome to the LTT forum!

Thank you for providing a budget, but I have to ask one question; what parts do you have in your current build, besides the GTX 960?

Alright, good to know. 1500€ is about $1750 USD. To be honest, that 4770K is still pretty capable in 2018. However, I'd like to get you updated, to stuff like DDR4 memory, and the (current) latest GPUs. Go with a 2 x 8, 3200MHz, DDR4 memory kit, a CPU and MB that support it, and either a 1070, or a GPU more powerful than one. This PC could do everything you mentioned previously.

Thank u very much!! Really. you've been really helpful. I would use your tips for my future PC. I'll wait maybe 1 or 2 months to see how the market changes with the new rtx series and maybe buy a 2070 if the prize is reasonable, even though we don't know the launch date yet

Yeah, wait for benchmarks on the new GPUs before you potentially buy one of those. If prices change a lot, change accordingly, or come back here to ask.

Glad I could help.

A 1080 Ti will get you through the next couple of years.  Games aren't going to really utilize the 20 series raytracing for at least a year, and a 1080 Ti can handle pretty much anything.  Plus you can get one used for $500.

Are the used gpus trustworthy? And where do u buy them? I prefer buying everything on Amazon because they give your money back in 2 years without questions

I've purchased 2 used 1080 Ti's and both were rock solid, from Ebay.  Some sellers have a return policy, other items may not have that but they have an Ebay guarantee, so if you get stiffed Ebay's insurance will cover it.  Just look at the seller feedback, look at the pictures of the item, look for original packaging, etc.

Oh I should mention, I got a decent EVGA card that had a transferable warranty, so I've got 2 years of coverage for the card, just in case.   I don't know if other GPU brands offer that, but it's something to consider.
