its not allowed on this forum to discuss circumventing systems, but I will clue you in to one thing - on nearly all systems, the bandwidth limiting is done based on the MAC address, so yes a second wireless adapter would have a separate bandwidth limit. The hard part is using both of those effectively, you won't be able to directly bond or team the two together.

So I am sitting here on vacation dying because my wifi is so slow. I guess I'm lucky compaired to others the speed is around 600kbps. Is there a way to add a dongle to my PC bridge the connection and get a 1.2mbps connection or faster if I add more dongles. Would love to see a video test of this on tech tips or something. Help... Also not sure if this works how I would get another webpage and agree to the terms of service. Hotel wifi normally grabs mac address correct. Thanks to the forum and you and the staff for the info on this. If I ended up making a dup forum post I'm sorry please remove this.

its not allowed on this forum to discuss circumventing systems, but I will clue you in to one thing - on nearly all systems, the bandwidth limiting is done based on the MAC address, so yes a second wireless adapter would have a separate bandwidth limit. The hard part is using both of those effectively, you won't be able to directly bond or team the two together.

Ok thanks brwainer.... I'm not really trying to circumvent the security of the hotel or hack the speed just trying to see if there was a way I could alter my pc and combine a connection. Stinks that there really is no way. Oh well thanks for the help all.

What you are trying to do is most likely against the terms of service of the hotel’s network, which therefore isn’t encouraged by this forum.

Technically you are, as they are limiting the speed "per device" and you would be making your single device appear to be two.
