Hey Guys,

im planning to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 980 TI to the RTX 2080 TI since the 980 TI is getting rather old. However, i cant stop thinking about one thing and that is, will my CPU be a bottleneck? Im running an I7 5930k @ 4Ghz and im really unsure if it is good enough, since its from 2014. But on the other hand, the specs arent even that different from something like an 8700k except in core speed, Cache and lanes. So i should be ok if i just OC my CPU to like 4.3, right?

Thanks in advance

I would rather not recommend u to buy a 2080ti....as it is way too overpriced..

It's literally in the Titan territory...

I would rather suggest u to get ur hands on a gtx 1080ti...as they r going on fr pretty cheap....I purchased one fr $600 brand new from Amazon...prices are expected to come down even more ..

I understand your point, however i actually waited the 10 series out for this gen to get an upgrade for the next 3 years. And i also expected the cards to be very expensive so im prepared and ready to spend it, just waiting for becnhmarks and the asus strix model now

I have a i7 5930k with a FTW3 1080ti... I have the cpu at a solid stable 4.4Ghz for 2 years on my Evga x99 classified its set to auto voltage (which is at 1.286v) I have gotten this clock on air and on the 2 fan aio cooler I'm using now. Running max temps at 60c with 50% fan speed. I can get 4.5-4.6 but some games it works for me like GTA5 and some just hate it and will crash like BF1...
