Hello.

I need a laptop for school which can handle cinema 4d, adobe package and some html/css3. I was looking at the 1050/ti but since i want something sleek and light i stubbled upon the mx150. Would a 8th gen i5 (probably 8250u) with 8gb ddr4 ram and a nvidia mx150 do just fine in the mentioned programs, or do i need to spend a bit more coin and go for the gtx-series?

- I would also like if anyone has a suggestion for a pc which can handle these programs with a +98% srgb display for approx. 1000 dollars.

Looking forward for some answers, Thanks!

get GTX stuff. MX and GT stuff miss out features like Shadowplay, I dont know if there are other useful stuff missing that you'd want to have.

Thanks for your reply.

I got a desktop pc for gaming, so it wouldnt be used for gaming. Maybe some light gaming like Rocket league or Csgo on the go but thats it. The laptop is for a Multimedia study, so it would be used for rendering in adobe and cinema4d etc.

CUDA support is what you want right? MX150 does support CUDA, its the other things I cant name that I'm unsure of.

Define "sleek and light"?

Yes, the MX150 should suit your needs. But it should be perfectly feasible to stretch to a GTX 1050 and maintain a relatively small form factor within a reasonable price range.

Thin and light gaming laptops are pretty common if you're looking at laptops with a 60 class GPU or lower. The real trick is finding one that doesn't have a "gamery" look.

This one might fit the bill. It does have some slight angular accents, but doesn't have the overly flashy markings of a typical gaming laptops.
