To my knowledge, you can use this. or Windows 10 Enterprise Keys for development purposes.

Not sure if the rules are different in Canada but this seems to be DE WAY.

It's a good idea but I doubt Linus would be able to use that in Canada. Maybe he could, who knows?

Without looking at the license restrictions on the dev / test licenses included in such a package, Its highly likely that as Linus would be "making money" off the video the license was used in. Then this would violate the terms of use, i could be wrong, but dev and test licenses are not meant to be used commercially, and technically creating a video utilizing one of the licenses to do some "benchmarks" would probably be a violation in some way shape or form.

 

Either way there will be a violation somewhere.

Well, I dont get why ppl think that this is a problem. You can use Windows LEGITIMATELY without activation. Download the iso from microsoft, install with no key and use it FOREVER with the water mark.

I'm pretty sure it would still whine about activation, and that was point of whole video. If MS would go back to what Win7 and earlier had with 30-day free trial without it having that watermark, then there would not be need for the video, nor threads like this. Nobody would know as system gets reinstalled anyway before time runs out.

Then they would have one less video. It's nice to have videos to put out every day. Even if the staff easily knows the answer. Just think about the stress of having to come up with so many new video ideas. I know they reach out for ideas but it helps to have some freebies.

Actually Win7 doesn't have only 30-day free trial. I've been using unactivated Windows 7 Pro for 2 years.

Yes. But I can't set wallpaper, it's only blank black. And every time I start my PC it says I have to activate it today but I can just click cancel.

Considering subject, I think Linus would be much happeir if he wouldn't need to point out the obvious. At least he seems very annoyed having to repeat himself in videos.
