Hi, is just bought my new mb, and installed os and such. After couple days got some HDDs from friend for cheap and took them. Now im trying to get them in raid config, but after i but SATA mode in bios to RAID, and set up my raid from the raid controller, windows wont boot. All it gives is: UNACCESIBLE BOOT DEVICE. I looked it up but its a little messed info. So can i make a raid 0 without installing windows again?

Ok. If you haven't taken any troubleshooting steps I would recommend checking if the system can boot at all. Therefore try unplugging the RAID and boot again. Just to check if the system will boot :)

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

So, i unplugged the raid, and left the SATA in raid mode in bios, still wont boot, gives same error.

Hm. This might mean the drive is corrupt... That's what I think anyway. To anyone else in this thread: You got some input on this?

I dont see how it could be corrupt, because if i put it back in AHCI mode in bios, it will boot up, and works like a dream.

When you set it to RAID is it for all the SATA interfaces or just the interfaces for the hard drives?

It's for all drives

Maybe this thread form Toms Hardware will help (I know it's RAID 5 but oh well)
