BIOS WON'T DETECT BOOT DRIVE!

Recently, I got a few BUGCODE USB DRIVER bluescreens because I'm running Windows on a USB. After it bluescreened a few times my bios will no longer detect my USB. After a few more tries to get the USB to detect, the computer won't boot into the BIOS but when I unplug the USB it starts booting Into the BIOS. Any attempt in plugging in the USB while in the BIOS will freeze it when opening the add boot device menu. What is going on and how can I fix it?

Is it a USB memory stick?  If so I'd suspect its failed as they aren't designed to be used like SSDs for live OS installs.

When using a USB stick for an OS you REALLY need the OS to be designed for it, running read-only for the OS and all writing done to a RAM disk.  I'm not sure Windows can be setup like that.
