b350 and b450 are 2 different generations. Intercompatible CPUs, but the 450 has newer features like the newer turbo boost stuff.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

B350 is primarily for 1st gen Ryzen CPUs, B450 is for 2nd gen. However, you can use both generations of CPUs on both types of motherboards as long as the B350 has a BIOS that supports the newer processors.

Fairly unremarkable build, but I'd try to get a better PSU if overclocking is in your interests.

Also, the x3xx series was the launch boards for 1st generation Ryzen, and most boards can support the BIOS being updated to support the current 2nd generation line. The x4xx series contains extra features pertaining to new features supported by the 2nd gen Ryzen chips; it's mainly up to you to decide on what board you want.

Seems like a decent build, the b350 and b450 support the same cpus, the 450 is just a little newer. see what features you want on the board and don't worry too much about if its B350 or B450.

How difficult/time-consuming is the process of updating the BIOS?

If your CPU works out of the box, all you'll usually need to do is download the BIOS update from the support section of the website that pertains to your board onto a flash drive, and then go from there; most modern BIOSes support flashing the BIOS from its options menu.

If not, then you'll have to request a BIOS update kit from AMD and go from there.
