So I am upgrading my pc for the first time. My current hardware is a (as linked) http://prntscr.com/kp8x3i My CPU keeps saying its is a AM3+ socket but as shown in the pic it says it is a M2 socket. IDK what to do. Also, I don’t know what to do with a Graphics card as i have been told a lot with upgrading it. As of now i am looking to do a GTX 1050 ti. This is my long term goal as I can not do this all at once. Any tips, tricks, ect. SIDE NOTE. new RAM is in shipment from the 8gbs to a new 16. And power is also in account for this and calculated.

Welcome to the LTT forums! Don't bother with the 1050ti, your CPU can't handle it, you are already pushing it with a 750.... I recommend upgrading to at least a Sandy bridge core I5, a Ryzen 3, or a Kabylake core I3 first.

Agreed. You'll want to take to eBay and get something worth getting like the 4th gen Intel stuff or upgrade to the incredibly power hungry fx 8000 series, which I don't recommend at this point in time

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You better have a good CPU cooler and power supply then.

Get a cheapo optiplex frm eBay with a third/fourth gen i5/i7 ND slap in a 1050ti....ND u'll hv a decent gaming PC..

Also.... there's no point in investing in am3+ platform...as it is ancient by now....and is criticized even today because of its power consumption...

Those fx 8000 series CPUs run hot...
