Really wanting to get a decent tenkeyless.  I really dislike the way the Quickfire TK laid out the right side of the keyboard, combining a numberpad-ish layout with the arrow keys, so those are out.  The stealth's phantom keycaps mess me up too much, and the original Quickfires don't have backlighting.  The only other options are Duckys, which are even more impossible to find.

Any other options?

I will vouch that the system that the Quickfire TK uses is extremely good and after a day or two of using it becomes second nature and it should not put you off the keyboard. (Be ware you'll be hitting other keys if you ever use a keyboard that isn't designed like this one), however as you have said you don't want it have you looked at the Quickfire Rapid?

Not really many to chose from in terms of backlit tenkeyless mechanical keyboards... the only one that I can think apart from the once mentioned is Keycool 87 but I have no idea if they are any good or not. However if you can get your hands on the Ducky Shine 3 TKL then go for it because it is brilliant.

I use the Blackwidow Tournament and so far I find it great, my only complaint is that it doesn't have backlighting.

Well I have the Quickfire Rapid. No backlighting though but if that really doesn't bother you, go for it.

Filco also have TKL versions of their keyboards with backlighting afaik.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

Duckys and Max Keyboard's Blackbird are probably the best in the market, and I feel the Blackbird is slightly easier to find, since it's in Amazon. They're both similarly priced.

The only place I've been able to find Duckys is eBay and mechanicalkeyboards.com.

I'm actually looking for a tenkeyless myself and I'm stuck choosing between a Ducky Shine 3 TKL or the Blackbird. I like Ducky's backlight options and profiles better but the Blackbird has a beautiful ambient light at the sides, better key caps (double-shot, so they never wear off) and a braided non-removable cable (which to me is a plus, but it's a personal choice.)

Do consider that the Duckys have more options, as the Blackbird only comes in blue and brown switches and blue or red backlight.

I use a Filco Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless, with MX Browns. I know it also has Blues, and might have Blacks (but no promises)

If you want a flashy keyboard though, it's not for you, as it looks like this;

However;

You can put custom keycaps on very easily.
