ASAP Help needed (new mic)

Hi all, once more in here to pester you all with my quick decision purchases ?.

As of now im looking at the at2020 (xlr version) and the Rode nt usb.

I have quite the deep voice and would like the microphone to pick up on that without a muffled sound. I would like the sound to be clearer even if a little thin in some places.

I would be pairing the at2020 with a Behringer U-Phoria UM2, a cheap arm (no shock mount) and of course a xlr cable.

i will upgrade the ai for the mic a month or two after to the focus right scarlet 2i2 and a rode psa1.

te reason for the cheap ai and arm is so I can use it in my course work, recording / streaming and my podcast. (The podcast would only need to record myself as we are all records separately.)

What mic would be best? And would the sound be any good with the cheap ai / arm?

Sorry for the near ununderstandable post :D

Thanks for the help,

Lex.U

Thanks for the help,

For the scope of your project, it's unlikely you would need studio grade equipment.

I imagine you'd be fine with a cheap arm, but I would at least get a pop-filter.

It may be worth considering used microphones, as used dynamic and condensers from the likes of Sennheiser can be of great value.

You could always go for a more simple USB microphone too.

The blue yeti doesn’t have the best sound. In fact it has a very similar sound to the blue snowball just in a different chassi along with features I would not use. Thanks for the idea anyway :D

Eh, either way it's still a good mic and just cause it's USB doesn't mean it's bad
