Hello,

Asus strix 1060

Skylake 6700k

Asus 170a pc mate

Aerocool templanius imperator 750w

16g hyperx fury ddr4

And kingston's 240g ssd as an boot drive

So here's the deal. Yesterday in the middle of an gaming session my pc died, like some has pulled the plug of the wall. After this, system tried to boot itself again several times allways dying after 3 seconds or so and then no life at all, complitely dead.

So obviously i thought, "ok the power supply must be dead". Off i went and bought an new one. After replacing it, i plugged it back and it booted. Windows started up normaly and after a minute or so it died again. after that it didnt react to anything, complitely dead. Next i tried some old 600w power supply and same result. Only this time it stayed on for like 5minutes.

For me this problem is really wierd. After it crashes it doesent react to anything i have tried of disconnecting components and see if i can get it to boot, but no luck so far. It seems that only way to get it starting is disconnect the power supply and after an few hours pluging it back on.

What do you guys think whats causing this? First thing that came to my mind is motherboard. But without an test bench the only way to troubleshoot this type of problem is mindlessly buying new hardware untill the problem disappeares.

Does anyone had simillar problems or ideas what could be causing this type of failure?

Sounds like a borked motherboard. Take it to a Micro Center or Fry's and they can test it for you
