M.2 Questions/Help

WaitDontSh00t

Hey LTT!

I had some questions and was hoping you could help me out.

I never owned an M.2 drive and was wanting to get one since I was running out of space for my games. I was wondering if it's even possible in my current setup though and was hoping you could help me figure out if I could. I mainly just didn't know because I am running SLI and didn't know if it was possible.

My setup:

I7-6700k

Asus Maximus VIII Hero Alpha

Corsair Dominator 16GB 3000Mhz

980Ti Hybrid SLI

Corsair RM1000i

WD Black 2TB and 1TB

Samsung 850 Evo 500GB and 1TB SSD

Again, thank you so much in advance!

It will work.

Could there possibly be some thermal throttling if your card is right over it and pumping out a lot of heat? I have seen mention that could happen, but I doubt you'd notice.

Consider the average temp of your cards and look at the specs of the drive.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

Don't forget to tag or quote in your reply if you want me to know you've answered or have another question.

Thank you for the reply.

Do you know if enough lanes are available if I ever wanted to get a second M.2 in the future, or am I pushing it with what I have?
