First, I added an SSD and halved the HHDs capacity.

Then I made the PSU a bit smaller, because the other one was overkill.

Good luck!

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Not having an SSD will feel sluggish. I recommend tossing one in.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

strongly STRONGLY recommend an SSD in your build. At least 240GB. In 2018 there is no sense in not having an SSD in any build unless you're doing an ultra low budget bang-up system.

Also I recommend going with a case that has better airflow, like the Fractal Design Meshify C.

That 5400RPM hard drive will be very sluggish. A 7200RPM drive is recommended, even if you have to fork over some decent cash for the same capacity drive.

Otherwise that's a very solid build.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

i would have suggested around 500Gb as the minimum especially for a build that uses an i7 and a 1080.

also i would suggest a better sound system as that and storage will be the 2 letdowns (although they are adequate)

i would recommend the Z533 or the Z623 if you want to stay with the 2:1 setup but if money permits the 5:1 setups i find amazing. the Z506 is what i currently have setup inside of my room (i have the surround speakers around me as i use a corner desk) or even the Z906 (as that will be what i eventually upgrade to)

(Sub woofer is under the desk) Man I love the speaker setup

had to relook at the build you proposed again haha, an SSD is the main thing as that will be the thing that slows your computer down the most as a HDD paired with an i7 and a 1080 could be considered a letdown, also if the motherboard supports it better speed is achieved through the use of a m2 slot storage (they get mounted to the motherboard)
