Hey guys, so basically I'm to the point that I'm not really sure if anything worth the price will be a decent upgrade to my rig and really would like some opinions.

I've got an i5 6600K overclocked to 4.5 Ghz stable on a z170A Asus motherboard. I'm running 2 1070s in SLI (I know that it seems like I wasted money and should have gotten the 1080 but got both of them on an amazing black friday deal). I have a 2TB HDD for general storage, a 250 gb Samsung 850 SSD, and a 500Gb Samsung 960 nvme m.2 drive, and for cooling I've got a corsair h110i. The thing I think would be my next upgrade would be the processor but I have been watching the prices of the i7 6th and 7th gen and they don't want to budge, so I'm at a loss.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Your CPU is fine for gaming, wait for the intel 9th gen 8 cores, or just buy a Ryzen 7 8 core today, gaming performance is unlikely to improve too much though with either option.

Should sell one of the 1070s, for sure should have gotten rid of one or both during the mining bubble.

There's no major upgrades for that PC unless you just want more cores.

Would be a waste of money to buy a 6th or 7th gen i7 unless it's like $150 max, Ryzen 5 destroyed their value.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
