You get what you pay for and these are very entry level, but you are on the right track getting proper speakers (not HTiB) and a receiver. Now, by Hi-Fi am I correct to assume you mean no more than a 2 channel system or are you wanting to get into home theater?

I plan on MAYBE getting a subwoofer later on. But for now yes only a 2 channel system. Ill get more into surround systems when i build my m-itx pc wich will be a long time in the future.

If you have listened to those speakers and they sound good to you then I see no reason you shouldn't get them. if you have not, then go to local shops and listen to a bunch of different speakers and choose the best fit between sound quality and budget.

One thing to keep in mind, if you are going to be sticking with mostly 2 channel audio, you are probably better off getting a good 2 channel amplifier and stereo preamp. This however is a lot more costly but you are gaining quality components that will keep you happy a lot longer. Since you are just starting out in the audio world and on a tight budget, the configuration you chose is fine, I'm just letting you know about other options.
