Headsets...

Go to solution Solved by EsaT,

If you have own PC/gaming room (without notable background noise) then Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro would do well for above neutral bass punch fun gaming.

Pro Black Limited Edition would come with straight cable:

https://www.amazon.ca/Beyerdynamic-990-Pro-Black-Limited/dp/B010IJ9W1U/

Standard Pro is with coiled cable.

https://www.amazon.ca/beyerdynamic-990-PRO-Studio-Headphones/dp/B0011UB9CQ/

For noisy room DT770 is closed design.

(straight cable in 80 ohm version, coiled cable in 250 ohm version)

While not the most fashionable looking, design is easy to DIY mod with microphone:

Antlion's ModMic is commercialized product for that:

https://www.amazon.ca/Antlion-Audio-ModMic-Attachable-Microphone/dp/B00R98O6R4/

What is the best sounding headset with a decent mic? Try to keep opinions out of this.

What budget you have?

And do you have noisy or quiet environment?

After that there are your own preferences:

Do you want maximal details at expense of "fun factor"/neutral bass sounding shy, or some above neural bass impact?

(though controlled bass emphasis is harder for closed headphones)

Then you should forget gaming brands, because there aren't any actual measurements from those.

Only huge piles of marketing BS costing lot more than money spent on actual product quality...

And some headphones could be easily DIY modded with mic.

While ModMic allows turning any headphone to headset.

When you say coiled cable do you mean braided or that it coils up?
