I’m no genius, but I’d assume when the 11 series cards drop (which may be soon) the 10 series MAY see a drop In price be it small or large. So, I would advice waiting to see what this price drop is and if there is one and go from there. (Btw I’m a hardcore noob so take anything I say with a grain of salt.)

Just my 2 cents, but based off the rumored pricing, I doubt that. There's enough room between current 1080 TI price and the 2080 price tags that 1080 prices may just stay put with a possibility of rising again. This scenario is assuming that the current price that was leaked is true, but in the end, the market will decide what the price will really be on the previous generations.

If you buy today, I would personally go for a gtx 1050 3gb version if you can find it.  They're not as common as the 2gb but they're pretty close to a 1050ti wtih just less vram and sometimes $50 cheaper.

If you can stretch there's the RX 570/580, and beyond that the 1070 is dropping in price quite a bit - the price drops in gpus hasn't quite caught up with the 1060 yet, at least in the US.

I'd wait a couple of weeks and then make a decision.
