I am going to upgrade my laptop with a new ssd, and I would like that ssd and the boot ssd to run as a single drive and keep the data on the boot ssd.

But I don't know how to do it or if it is possible.

HP elitbook 850 G4 ( 5CG73644SP or X4B22AV)

SSD 256gb (boot drive)

samsung 860 evo 500gb

I don't recommend this, as this would involve some form of software RAID. (hardware RAID does not exist.) If you're comfortable with having to reinstall AND lose your data should the RAID fail (assuming your laptop even supports such a config) then go for it, otherwise I'd just install Windows onto the SSD and store files / programs on the HDD.

We do need more information to help though, so please include your make and model of laptop, as well as the storage drive(s) it has currently. If it's one of the following manufacturers below, we're looking for the following information from a (usually white) sticker on the bottom of the laptop, sometimes under the battery compartment:

Dell: Service Tag or Express Service Code

HP: Serial Number or Product Number (EZ406UA#ABA)

Acer: Product Number (NX.GD0EU.070)

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)
