HDR nits question

So I was thinking about buying a 4k HDR monitor/TV to use with my PS4 pro and watch movies/Netflix on etc. When looking at the price the peak brightness of the display in nits equates to about the price in EUR. So the cheaper monitos with around 400 nits cost 350 EUR and 1000 nits about 1000 EUR. I was wondering if the difference in peak brightness would be worth it. I mean I don't even like it when my monitor gets bright (my monitor brightness levels are usually below 30%), but does a brighter screen make HDR work better somehow?

Also, my main monitor is a 1440p gsync 165hz one which is connected to my desktop and I will probably still use for 75% of the time. So I'd prefer spending as little as possible as I only use my PS4 pro for exclusives and barely watch Netflix.
