hey, so I just recently got the Alienware aw2518hf gaming monitor just wanted to if anyone ever experienced this video affect just want to if its a defect, nothing is going on with the screen itself its just the video frame I'm running it at the monitor is running at 240htz at native 1080x1920 my rig is a MSI Gaming 970 Gaming board with a amd fx 8350 and also a SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 Fury 100379NTOC+SR 4GB 4096-Bit HBM PCI Express 3.0 x16 TRI-X OC+ (UEFI) Video Card. also, one more question does running the monitor at 240htz increase the pc workload while just doing something like using a web browser with 5 tabs or something. Never seen anything like that. Does reducing the refresh rate to 120Hz or below change anything?

 

Running a high refresh display always puts a slight load on the gpu but nothing that you would notice to much. For example on my GTX780 TI the gpu core sits at ~300 MHz while connected to a 120 Hz display but boost up to ~900 MHz while connected to a 144 Hz display. All during desktop use.
