Greetings,

To calculate true RAM latency you can use the following formula: CL/(Frequency/2)*1000

Let’s say you have a RAM kit rated for 3200MHz CL14 and a second one rated for 3866MHz CL18. The first kit has a true latency of 8.75ns and the second one ~9.31ns.

My questions are the following:

 - If I were to overclock both kits, would they both be able to reach 4200MHz?

 - Which RAM kit will have the best overclocking potential? Is true latency an important factor for that, or is it the amount of voltage they use at their rated speeds?

Kind regards.

Depends on the silicon lottery, but make sure to get one with samsung memory, they overclock higher than hyenix/whatever

I only see your reply if you @ me.
