Overclocking RAM

Hello, 2400mhz xmp is written on my ram, is it safe to overclock it to 3000mhz? but my motherboard only supports up to 2666mhz ram is it possible to overclock it to 3000mhz?

 

my motherboard is MSI B360m Bazooka

my ram is 2x 4gb Gskill Ripjaws 2400mhz xmp ready

it's safe to do 3000MHz on memory sticks (as long as voltage stays reasonable, say 1.65V for sticks with heat spreaders). However, you cant do that on a B360 chipset motherboard. 2666 is as high as it will get.

 

You can lower the timings manually to get more performance out of it though, but that's another thing to master.

so is it safe to overclock my ram at 2666mhz? because only 2400mhz xmp ready is written on my gskilll ram.
