So, my laptop just broke so I have to hurry up my first custom build and I would need your help in doing this. I will use the build 90% for work (3D-work, Photoshop, multiple monitors) but occasionally for some gaming as well as video editing.

I already own the following parts:

- Case: Meshify C TG

- Mother Board: Asrock x399 Taichi

- CPU: Ryzen Threadripper 1950x

- SSD: Samsung 1TB 960 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD

What I need help with choosing is:

- RAM: My aim long term is at 128GB. However, since my laptop broke quite sudden, I can not afford 128 straight away at the moment. What 32GB setup should I get now, so that I easily can upgrade to 128GB later down the road with just buying more of the same sticks? 1, 2, 4 sticks? Also, what speeds should I aim for? Memory QVL here: https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/X399 Taichi/index.asp#Memory

- GPU: I just read that AMD will release their AMD Radeon Pro WX 8200 (retail price at ~$1000) which looks kind of sweet. Should I wait for this one or just go for a random 1080TI GPU around the same price?

- CPU cooler: Read lots of mixed reviews about the NZXT Kraken regarding the quality. Any other options?

Thanks a billion in advance for all the help I can get!

For the cooler, you really want to get one that is actually designed for Threadripper as the size of the cold plate really needs to be proper size.

AMD Threadripper 2990WX Cooling Performance - Testing Five Heatsinks & Two Water Coolers

If you check the last chart, a 240 TR4 AIO is on average 10C better than a 'regular' 360 AIO.

RAM, 2933 or 3200 is good enough.

Is the Threadripper 2990WX and Threadripper 1950x the same size?
