Fan mounting

Hello everyone, i bought the new coolermaster Q300L case and it seems.that im having trouble with mounting case fans im using my old 120mm case fans from my old antec lanboy air, where the fan mounts on the case are just screw holes with no threading on it could this be a problem with my case or do i need to get new case fans that will mount?

If that's how your supposed to mount a fan then i have been doing it wrong this hole time thanks for the help.

Its other way around usually. Except with radiators where longer screws are used.

The way Lanboy has them is standard way. At least rear fan for CM case is just like that. If case would use some different style, or fans would use different style, they would come with suitable mounting hardware. But in most sitations fan screws are self-tapping.
