if you have used Ubuntu would a Debian based distro not suit better, at least for learning? If you don't want a desktop environment you can remove them or find an install that does not include the DE. If you do the Debian route you are at least not trying to learn another package manger and you sort of know where things are there are some slight differences with arch.

The wiki and Google are your best bet I believe. The arch Wiki is in my experience a very good resource.

Too be honest im not really sure how you got lost with arch, their wiki pages are some of the best pages for explaining everything there is to know, but you have to be willing to read everything, otherwise you will miss important details, if in doubt, ask on the arch forums and you will get help (just remember to read the posting guidelines first)

Read up on terminal commands if you want to use arch without a desktop environment. A bunch of applications/packages can run via terminal, but not many.

The Arch wiki is amazingly detailed. Read it thoroughly and it should be pretty straightforward.

I don't really like the install wiki. In my opinion it suffers from having too much information and isn't as direct and to the point as it should be. I've got a Google doc here that gives every command but it's written for server use so you may need to tweak some things: https://docs.google.com/document/d/13SSmwqRIq0EU3w_9GoQvvu4QehOC1F6sPLMW4wDHQ7I/edit?usp=sharing

If you want to add me on Steam I can run help you with what ever you need. http://steamcommunity.com/id/igotcrabs/

Not necessarily. With the exception of pictures and videos and arguably web browsing you can do everything through terminal, I specifically try to.

is there a reason why you wan't to run cmd line only ? It's great for a server environment, but why force yourself to do cli only otherwise? Get KDE, gnome or whatever window manager suits you and get the basic settings apps (network etc) you need.
